Document signing and acceptance

Consents and terms signed on your tablet or on the customer's phone, with a receipt

Your customer checks their details, reads, ticks “I have read and understood” and signs with their finger. You keep a PDF receipt of every signature —exactly which text they accepted, when, with which details and their signature— and, if you wish, they get it by SMS. For clinics, opticians, garages, estate agencies or any business that needs its customer to read and accept something, with no paper and no scanner.

In your premises, with a tablet: this is how it works

Any tablet or iPad with a browser. There is no app to install.

1. You register the customer and choose what they sign

In Signatures you enter their mobile number, their name and, if you like, their details (ID, address…), and choose the document: your consent form, your terms, a quote. You prepare it once in Pages and reuse it every time.

Their QR code, which the tablet reads. If the tablet is paired, the signature appears on it by itself.

2. The signature reaches the tablet

Their QR code appears: the tablet reads it (or the customer does with their own phone) and their signing page opens. If you pair the tablet just once, signatures appear on it by themselves, without reading anything, and it can stay locked in the browser.

3. They check, read and sign with their finger

Their details are already filled in so they only need to check them. They read the text, tick the mandatory box and sign in the box. Without the tick and the signature, the button does not work.

If you configure it, they also receive a code by SMS on their phone, which proves the phone is theirs.

4. Signed, and the tablet is left clean

When they finish, the tablet just says “Signed”: no data, no downloads, no going back, and if nobody touches it, it returns to the start by itself. The next customer sees nothing of the previous one. If you want, the customer receives on their phone the SMS with the link to their receipt.

Remotely, or for everyone

By SMS, from their phone

You send them the link by SMS and they sign from home, with the same process. As the link already reaches their phone, they do not need a code. It works for any acceptance: quotes, terms, authorisations, bookings.

With a fixed link or QR code

For texts everyone accepts (the terms of your service, a policy), a fixed link you put on your website, in an email or on a QR code at the counter. Each person leaves their mobile number and their signature.

You choose, document by document

  • Finger signature, yes or no.
  • Code by SMS when signing on the tablet or with the QR code: it proves the phone is theirs. With a finger signature on your own tablet you can do without it.
  • Confirmation SMS at the end: none, a normal one (what they accepted, when and the link to their receipt) or a certified one, with an evidence certificate and a qualified time stamp from Camerfirma, for when you need more legal certainty.
  • A copy of the receipt to your email, if you wish.

The receipt: exactly what was accepted

Every signature generates a PDF with the exact text that was accepted, the date and time, the details the customer checked, their IP address, their signature and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the text and of the signature, so you can prove that nothing has changed. If you edit your document tomorrow, what was signed before does not change.

It is a simple electronic acceptance, and the PDF itself says so. When you need more —a contract someone might dispute— you have certified messaging, with an evidence file and a qualified time stamp.

Try it yourself

Your first signature, in ten minutes

This is how we check it ourselves: you set up the page, prepare a signature for yourself and sign it with your own mobile. You see exactly what your customer will see and what you are left with.

  1. Create your account and verify your email. From then on you can prepare pages and see them in preview.
  2. In Pages, create a new page. Give it a title, add a Text block with the introduction and a Terms block with your text (its title and the wording of the tick box, for example “I have read and understood the terms and I accept them”). If you want to ask for details, add a Form: name, ID number, email…
  3. Choose the page options: finger signature; SMS code when signing with the QR code or on the tablet; the final SMS (none, standard or certified); and the receipt by email, to the person signing —it needs an “Email” question in the form— and a copy to yours. Save the page.
  4. In Signatures, press “New signature”. Enter your own mobile number and your name, choose the page and how it is signed: here, with the QR code or on the tablet, or remotely, by SMS. Press “Prepare the signature”.
  5. Scan the QR code with your mobile (or with the tablet): check your details, read, tick the box, sign with your finger and, if you asked for it, enter the code you receive by SMS. You will see “Signed”.
  6. Look at what you are left with: the PDF receipt in Pages → Responses, the email with the PDF attached, the SMS on your mobile and the signature charge on your balance.

Before anyone can sign, a person on our team has to approve your account: we usually do it the same day. Until then, in test mode, you prepare the page and see it in preview. Once it is approved, SMS go out for real and each signature and each SMS is charged to your balance.

Complete example

A dental clinic: informed consent, signed on the reception tablet

Each consent form is a page, prepared once and used for every patient. This is how it is configured:

The page

  • Internal name: “Implant consent” (only the clinic sees it).
  • Text: “Before we start, read this document calmly. If you have any questions, ask us before signing.”
  • Terms: the title “Informed consent” and, as the text, the clinic's consent form: what the treatment involves, its risks, the alternatives and that it can be revoked. The tick box: “I have read and understood the consent form and I accept it”.
  • Form: full name, ID number, date of birth and email, to send them their copy.
  • Look: the clinic's logo and colour.

A tip for healthcare: the title of the terms travels in the SMS and can be seen on the lock screen. Do not let it name the treatment (“Informed consent”, not “Dental implant consent”).

The options

  • Finger signature: yes; the signature appears on the receipt.
  • SMS code: no, because they sign on the reception tablet, in front of you. If they signed on their own mobile by scanning the QR code, better with a code.
  • Final SMS: standard, with the link to their receipt; or certified, if you want the strongest legal certainty.
  • Receipt by email: to the patient, and a copy to the clinic.

Every day, at reception

In Signatures → New signature, reception enters the patient's mobile number and name (and, if they have them, their ID number and date of birth, so the patient only has to check them), chooses “Implant consent” and the paired tablet. The signature appears on the tablet by itself; the patient signs, and the tablet is left clean for the next one. If a patient wants to take it home, it is sent by SMS and they sign it from their mobile.

The same scheme works for any business: the text, the details requested and the options change. There are more than thirty use cases, each with its configuration: opticians, physiotherapy, gyms, academies, summer camps, garages, estate agents, rentals, law firms…

What it costs

No fees and no lock-in: a prepaid balance that never expires (amounts excl. VAT).

  • Each signature or acceptance with a receipt —on the tablet, with the QR code or from the page link—: €0.10 from your balance.
  • Each SMS sent —the link, the code or the confirmation— to Spain: €0.039.
  • Surcharge for the certified confirmation: €0.25.
  • Signing pages: the first two years included; after that, €0.002 per person who opens it per year, with a minimum of €5.00 a year.

Signing and acceptance with a receipt are not offered to mobile numbers in the USA or Canada.
